COMMENSALISM

mango-and-poor-man-orchid

How much of an Orchid you are?

So beautifully bloomed in the shade of a tree

In the VIBGYOR of colours, you camouflage yourself in

A fragrance so vehement, enough to allure me.

Such bliss of uniqueness in a single flower

Blessed with both in tandem-

One deriving the ancestral characters of love;Synapomorphy

Also, the one having its own romance;Apomorphy

Although holds the justice of bilateral symmetry,

Unfortunately, resupinate on a mango tree.

O dear Orchid! Why would you let the tree host you?

Why would you not live on your own?

CAN’T YOU SEE WHAT I CAN SEE?

You don’t take benefit from the tree

And yet it takes the credit of your charm.

It holds the soil beneath firmly to stand abreast

And let you dangle on its branch with no harm.

O dear Orchid! Stop being the reliant you.

Be a white rose instead

With a black rose like me

We shall graft out our way together

Being the epic monochromatic beauty!

 The Typewriter

“How old school can she be? She wants a typewriter in lieu of a laptop.”
“Maybe some hitch for possessing such not-so-common item. O yes! She loves stationery!”
“Now it’s comprehensive that what kind of a girl is she. Why can’t just she get it? I mean if she is that desperate to have it, get it. It’s not that she can’t.”

“Of course I can”, She enters the room and served the coffee to both of them.” But wait.Did you say desperate?”, She throws the cushion aiming Maria while making herself comfortable on the bed.
All of them shared a giggle and sipped the coffee from their mugs.
Meanwhile, Maria got a call and she went to the balcony to attend it.

“Hey see, how is it?”, Asked Trisha.
Trisha showed her a Tag Heuer for women on her cell phone. Obviously, it has to be a wow.
“Nice”, sipped her coffee.
“Naman bought this for my birthday”, told Trisha enthusiastically.
“F-ck! Are you kidding me?”, She almost spilled the coffee.
“But..umm…why..why a?? Why a watch? You already have four watches. How many hands do you have witch?”
” Arre, don’t you even know what to question? You could have asked, why a Tag Heuer? Idiot, Trisha nudged her to keep the empty mug on the table.

“Did she show you the watch? How is it? Nice naa?”, Maria returned.

All she could do was agree. Because her judgments and criticisms are unviable. They are amongst the normal people. They can’t be wrong.

But what about her? She is no different. Just a tit-bit here and there. All she ever wished for was the significance of the gifts and gestures. For her, the typewriter is something which describes that he is a keeper. He values her sentiments and will always encourage her to follow her dreams and pursue the same with passion. Also, shouldn’t a person be thoughtful enough about the presents he gifts to his love?

“o hello! Lost? Let’s go.We are already late for the concert”, Maria pulls her out of her thoughts.

She smiled. Kissed her dog and left along with her friends for the concert.

Rest in Peace Tannu

Dear Tannu

I always had a lot to tell you. Mostly, Thank You. Thank you for being a wonderful person or should I say, an awesome person. Such a blithe soul you are, partying hard every night,  wearing the latest of the trend, so much flamboyance in a single soul. How much you love to travel and how much I got fascinated by the life you had. Although I really did not like this decision of yours. Travel as much as you want to. You could have opted for any place in the world if India did not give you many options. Why did you get so adventurous to go to heaven? Why did this apathy took you so far that you are not even going to come back? I know you do not actually care for anybody’s decision but for your own and of course, Unkle and Aunty’s who never actually questioned your decisions. But this time, they really didn’t want you to go. This very first time. Couldn’t you once accept it?

I remember how Daddy always used to tell me- ” Be bold like Tannu. Fear nobody or nothing like her.” You know, it should have been irksome to me as to how he wanted me to be like you. However, it never was. Will he ever say that again to me? Didn’t you love to be a good example? I mean, I never minded being forthright like you. Had it been that you did not like me following you, you could have asked me. What was so perturbing that you went without even saying a word?

So many anecdotes I have about us, about you. I wonder if you remember them all. Do you remember the Mumbai trip? How we travelled in the ladies coach with a ticket of a general coach in a local train and then encountered the TT. It was quite a save dude. Later, me being an asshole to you for no reason. I am really sorry for that. I thought we buried the hatchet. You really shouldn’t avenge in this manner. Just come back and I will make up for it with a pup.

You had been my key to sneak out. All I had to do was call you and in no time, you were all set to take me out anywhere I want to. Were you tired of being an angel? Or you literally became one?

I just have to understand that it was necessary for you to free yourself from those perceptible shackles of the disease that deceased you. Not today, but the moment you stopped flying and contracted your world on a bed. Now that you have gone, you can fly high again.

Although I could not return your favour, I Love You.

Padmavati blocked in the pipeline

IMG_20171121_225905

“Only when it will be allowed to.” The idea of the pipeline movie Padmavati is taken from the medieval history of India which is of course, not a brainchild of Hollywood. The release was planned to be on 1st December 2017 initially. Unfortunately, the original ideas are being dragged to the streets with black banners depicting that the mere idea has offended the people.

They say there is the distortion of facts related to Rani Padmavati. First of all, are these people clairvoyant to know what has Bhansali productions cooked for the meal to be served on 1st December? If they do feel so after the movie, they can always take the grievance to the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal. I do not understand that why isn’t there any aggression against the daily soap Chandra Nandini aired on Star Plus for the same reason even after a year?

Another thing which perplexed me was that Padmavat is an epic poem written by Malik Muhammad Jayasi. It is clearly mentioned that it is a fictional work about Allaudin Khilji’s lust for Rani Padmini, the queen of Chittor. So why is there such a hue and cry about a fiction? We cannot confiscate the freedom of expression just because of the public outrage.

Hence, the judicial reviews of Supreme Court are unbiased in this regard. It has been dismissing pleas to stay the release of the movie with a wise justification that the Supreme Court cannot stop a statutory body like the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) from doing its statutory duty of certifying a film by prematurely ordering a stay on its release. Moreover, this country is so ignorant that it doesn’t bother to read the linked acts( in this case, Cinematograph Act) before filing the PIL.

Amongst the many reasons for the banning of the film, one is that it would delineate the notions of Hindu-Muslim enmity. To this, I have a reference to make from Bajirao-Mastani, which was again a Bhansali Production. I think it’s logical to think that if a Hindu Marathi Peshwa can love a Muslim Queen, then a Muslim Sultan can also love a Rajputani Rani and can wage a war for her because as great people say- “Everything is fair in love and war.”
